Introduction
Yacht Junky is a multi-seller marketplace where dealers and private owners list boats and yachts, and buyers search, compare, and enquire. Zenith Digital built it entirely inside Wix Studio, using the native CMS as the data layer and Velo for everything the platform needed beyond it: seller notifications, enquiry history, private contact routing, and currency conversion.

The challenge
A boat and yacht marketplace has real platform requirements: sellers who list and manage inventory, buyers who search and filter their way to one specific vessel, and enquiries that have to reach the right private seller without publishing anyone's contact details. The usual answer is a custom development budget and months of build.
The brief was to prove the usual answer wrong: build the whole thing as a native Wix Studio platform, so it ships at Wix Studio speed and the team runs it without a developer on retainer.
Approach
The CMS as a marketplace database
Listings, sellers, and enquiries live in Wix Studio's native CMS collections, related to each other the way a marketplace database should be. Every listing page is generated dynamically from the data, so a new vessel is a content entry, not a build task, and the catalog scales without anyone touching a page.
Search that thinks like a boat buyer
Nobody buys a yacht from a category page. The search layer runs detailed filters across the specs buyers actually shortlist on, and prices convert between currencies on the fly, because boat buyers and boat sellers are rarely in the same country.
Velo where the platform outgrows the page
The marketplace mechanics are custom Velo code: sellers get email notifications the moment an enquiry lands, buyers build an enquiry history as they shortlist, and private sellers stay reachable without their contact details ever being published. That's the layer that separates a platform from a listings brochure.
Why native matters
The same build on a custom stack means hosting, maintenance, and a developer relationship for the life of the product. Native means the team edits everything the way they'd edit any Wix site. The honest trade-off: a platform that outgrows these mechanics, with payments, escrow, or seller dashboards, eventually argues for custom. This build shows how far the platform genuinely goes before that day, and it's further than most agencies will tell you.
